Ground fault outlets, commonly known as GFCIs, stop shocks before they are ever felt. Gfi protection is vital where water is concerned, direct grade: concrete, earth, kitchen, bathroom, swimming pools, garages, basements, etc. Less than a third of an ampere (1/3 A), can defibrillate your heart. That is why electricians become so fast in their reactions to current drawn through them due from a mistake. Lightning fast.
